About Vermont.

Location is Important: Why Vermont?

Vermont has many experiences to offer any visitor. With its rolling mountains and incredible sunsets over Lake Champlain, one would be hard pressed to find a more beautiful location to spend their vacation or summer break. Local festivities occur year round, usually catered towards the more unique aspects of Vermont business and culture. While there are many places individuals may visit all over Vermont, the majority of Advance Employment employees will be working within the area of Burlington, Vermont.

Church Street, Burlington's main walking street, is always open and available to anyone who is in the mood to shop, eat, or just people-watch. Many local gatherings happen on Church Street, such as the Jazz Music Festival in June, the Fourth of July Fireworks display, and the Holiday Tree Lighting in December. A local free bus runs during the day from the top of the town at the University of Vermont down to Church Street, then continues down a few blocks more to the main waterfront area of Lake Champlain.

Lake Champlain in the Summer

During the summer, Lake Champlain's North Beach is a popular hang out, complete with safe swimming areas, walking and biking trails, and even a snack shop! These warmer months of late May through September also bring a larger variety of outdoor eating establishments with live music along the waterfront. Hiking is a popular activity of most resident Vermonters, and bus tours are available to different locations for shopping and site-seeing. As Autumn approaches in early September, visitors from all over the United States flock to Vermont to see the famous annual occurance of tree leaves changing color as they fall to the ground before Winter comes.

Vermont Mountains in Autumn

From the months of December through February and early March, Vermont is normally covered in a blanket of snow. If individuals ski or snowboard, many different venues are available for fun during the winter season. Since most Advance Employment employees will have Monday through Friday or Sunday through Thursday job schedules on a weekly basis, the majority of weekends will be available to make use of the mountain terrain for snow sports. Buses and rides are often available through local ski shops in the Burlington area, and ski mountain locations are as close as 30 minutes from Burlington!
