Soap Production & Manufacturing.

Soap production and manufacturing involves mixing of basic ingredients, shaping or "pressing" of the soap into form, packaging the finished product or "wrapping", and boxing the product for shipment to local and international locations. Some products are everyday soaps that are seen in many well-known stores across the United States. Other soaps are distributed internationally, or are seasonal/specialty bars in fun shapes and colors. The soaps created are known by name and superior quality all over the world!

Specialty Soap Ready for Shipment

All soaps are mixed on site in the batch-making department, where soap base, color, and fragrances are added by a specialized laboratory team to create the perfect blend. This product base is then sent to the pressing department. Here, the base is "pressed" by machines into the appropriate shape and placed onto trays for cooling and transport to the wrapping department. Cooled pressed soap is then placed in its individual packaging for the store it will be sold in. Due to the nature of soap, and the strong smells associated with soap production and manufacturing, those who have allergies to dust or perfumes, who have extreme sensitivity of the eyes and skin, or who have breathing problems such as asthma should not apply for this position.

Moving Palettes of Cooled Soap

On a daily basis Advance Employment employees will be expected to transfer soap onto cooling trays after it has been pressed, help package soap into different boxes and wraps either by hand or by the use of a specialized machine, and box the finished product together for shipping. Throughout this process, each employee will need to pay careful attention to detail for the purposes of quality control. All employees will be standing during their shift except for two 15 minute breaks and one 30 minute lunch/dinner break (breaks are unpaid). All employees should be able to lift 20-30 pounds (10-14 kilos) without struggle or personal strain. Uniforms are not required, however a strict dress code must be followed at all times while in the work area.

Multiple production shifts run 7 days per week, during various different shifts. Advance Employment employees may be scheduled on shifts running 8 hours or 12 hours, depending on the individual soap project for each week.
